Our pigs come from a respected family-run farm deep in the rolling hills of Devon.

 

At night-time, they sleep in purpose built arcs (Noah would be impressed), and by daytime they roam freely, foraging or playing mah jong or whatever it is that pigs do.

 

 

So this recipe provided a challenge: is there chorizo made with British pork of good provenance?

 

After scouring the land, we were delighted to discover an artisan producer using outdoor reared British pork and, like us, only making small, careful batches. British Chorizo! Hurrah!

 

The depth of flavour and pimento kick it brings to this dish has made the quest worthwhile. The kick, naturally, is the smoked paprika it's cured with. And that remains 100% Spanish. ¡Olé!

We want to know EXACTLY what is going into our OnePots, and support British farmers too.

This delicious, nutty flavoured supergrain is high in fibre (reducing cholestrol), rich in protein and has a low G.I. count. It's packed with vitamins and minerals (like zinc: important in controlling blood sugar levels) and has special carbohydrates that strengthen body tissue and stimulate the immune system. And it can be eaten by many people with wheat intolerance too. It's all good.

Storage

 

Keep refrigerated below 5°C.

Once opened, consume within 2 days.

 

SUITABLE FOR HOME FREEZING. If freezing, consume within 3 months and allow extra time for heating.

 

 

Heating

 

MICROWAVE (850W Cat.E):

Remove sleeve and lid. Rest lid loosely on top. Heat for 3½ minutes on full power, stirring halfway through. Allow to stand for 1 minute.

As microwave powers vary, please check manufacturer's instructions.

 

HOB:

Empty contents into a saucepan.

Warm on a medium heat, stirring occasionally, until piping hot (usually 5 - 6 minutes).
